Fibroadenoma Surgery

What is Fibroadenoma Surgery?

This procedure involves removing the fibroadenoma through a small incision in the breast. Usually, the incision will be placed at the edge of the areola (coloured area around the nipple) for the best cosmetic result. In most cases, only the fibroadenoma will be removed with no additional normal breast tissue. The specimen will be sent to the pathology lab for a final result. Fibroadenoma surgery is performed under a general anaesthetic as a daycase.
